Ken CumminsKen Cummins is a stream and watershed ecologist specializing in aquatic ecosystem processes with emphasis on freshwater invertebrates. He is an Adjunct Professor of Fishery Biology and Senior Advisory Scientist of the USGS California Cooperative Fisheries Research Unit at Humboldt State University. He also is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University. He conducted research funded by state and federal agencies and natural resource companies, and now is a Consultant in Stream Ecology. He has over 100 research papers published in the peer-reviewed literature and is an editor and contributor to the book Aquatic Insect of North America, now in its 4th (2008) edition. He has been on the faculties of Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Humboldt State, and Oregon State and Maryland Universities where he taught, conducted research, and directed graduate student degrees. He was Distinguished Scientist in the Everglades Restoration Program at the South Florida Water management District He has served on numerous state, national, and international committees and served on the Science Advisory Board for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
